But then we realize it is being told in the same manner as they approach their life - with a sense of humor. "Welcome To Rio!" is the adventure/romance memoir of the author and her husband's time spent in Brazil, without the job that was promised to them and find themselves destitute. They are forced to rely on their wits and live on the edge of a society where they are foreigners, outsiders... the odds are stacked against them, and things take several really bad turns.
